People are getting more and more fake. They keep acting like they live in their own world all the time. People on the internet are getting more successful at making good social media accounts, and some of the older ways of doing things are getting outdated.
People
used to be more relaxed about doing things on the internet. Their mild-mannered
comments would circulate from place to place casually. They would look at only
who they really like to look at. The world was very calm.
Now,
people on the internet are starting to be more active with the things that they’re
doing. The comments they’re making are getting more advanced. The lingo they
use has taken more of a social stance. The things people say are becoming more
complicated.
People
on social media will be talking about all kinds of stuff together. The
conversation won’t just be “you look great,” or “nice way of being.” People
will be talking about stuff like “I would dress like that if I could. You look
like you’re a movie star.” They’re taking things into account more and more
from their own passions and interests and expressing them on a deeper level.
They
aren’t too picky about who they’re choosing to mess with either. They’ll take
on anyone and everyone if they can. But it’s leaving some people untouched as
the trend moves towards more popular people in general. The biggest social
media accounts, not even the best ones, are the ones who have the most active
and engaged audience.
It’s
like people are just going towards where the trend is, and they’re leaving all
kinds of ambitious people to keep trying things out on their own. The most
troll part of it is that the most engaged people on the internet in the modern
era aren’t who you’d expect it to be at all. The best commenters come straight
out of the trendiest accounts. It’s like everyone’s following the leader, but
they don’t have a solid vote on who’s in charge.
If
people were nervous when the internet first started to take off on social
media, that would explain a lot of things. The way that some accounts would get
a lot of likes because of their social circles being very large. It just made
sense the way everything was working. People would speak their mind and be
viewed with equality on the internet.
There is
a stark difference between then and now. Now, popularity in the real world is
becoming less and less feasible on social media as a way to connect with people.
People are drifting off into their own spheres, and leaving people behind as
they explore new things on the internet.
Things
are becoming less personable. They’re becoming more automated. The
artificiality of the internet is becoming more superficial and attractive. The
organic composition of people’s interactions together has less relevance to a
world full of new types of accounts and new types of interactions.
This
also leads the way for people to have fake social media accounts taking up the
space that real people should be occupying. If you get a good enough demeanor,
you can attract a large enough audience base strictly by adhering to trends.
People will catch on and think you’re great. There’s a lack of transparency even,
because old social media accounts used to be easy to detect the fakeness of.
They’d be obviously manufactured by third parties. Now, it’s nearly impossible
to tell if someone is real. They’ll even have really deep conversations with
you, but end up not existing in real life.
